shelby glidden

A native of St. Louis, MO, Shelby started early training at Dance Art Studios and Spirits Gymnastics then danced competitively with Motion Express School of Dance and Acrobatics. She began pre-professional dance training at the Center of Creative Arts as a member of COCAdance, under mentorship of Lee Nolting where she had the honor to work with choreographers: Darrell Grand Moultrie, Kate Skarpetowska, Jon Lehrer, Alicia Graf Mack, Antonio and Kirven Douthit-Boyd. She studied further at NYU’s Tisch Summer Residency Festival, Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts, Alvin Ailey Professional Summer Intensive, and Complexions Professional Summer Intensive. 

 

Graduating with honors from the University of the Arts, BFA in Modern Performance, she received the prestigious Stella Moore Prize for Four Years of Achievement and the Philadelphia Ballet Choreography Award. She was a jazz instructor for the Pre-College Festival at UArts and rehearsal assistant for numerous artists: Hope Boykin, Camille A. Brown, Gary Jeter, Meredith Rainey, and Mark Caserta. She danced professionally as a principal company member of Eleone Dance Theatre, a guest artist with Waheed Works and DanceSpora in Philadelphia. Shelby is a Certified Pilates Mat Instructor as well as a Certified Meditation Practitioner.
