stl rhythm fest 2022

STL Rhythm Fest 2022 was amazing!  We are sincerely grateful to everyone who attended classes and events this year. STL Rhythm Fest was a success because of you!  We couldn't have done it without the stellar faculty of artists who joined us this year, Elizabeth Burke, Tre Dumas III, Sean Kaminski, George Patterson III, and Nico Rubio. We also want to give a huge shout out to St. Louis Academy of Dance and Central Studio for allowing us to use their space and equipment for this event.

July 23-24, 2022

Our 2nd Annual STL Rhythm Fest is bringing 5 internationally acclaimed professional artists from across the U.S. to St. Louis, providing access to world class workshops & activities.  STL Rhythm Fest 2022 is a 2 day event that will feature 20 workshops, a jam session, and a faculty panel discussion. Activities will focus on sharing the history & artistry of tap dance.

The tap jam will feature the artistry of our master instructors and is an open forum where everyone is encouraged to join. The panel discussion, with our professional working tap masters, will discuss historical & contemporary issues important to careers in the arts. Both the panel discussion and showcase are open to the public, free of charge.

For many years, the R. L. Reed Tap Heritage Institute, under the direction of Professor Robert L. Reed, produced the St. Louis Tap Festival (STLF). During STLF’s tenure, thousands of artists and enthusiasts from all over the world have attended the festival’s activities and have recognized the St. Louis area as a hub for the art of tap dance.  STL Rhythm Collaborative will honor the commitment and contributions of the late Professor Robert L. Reed at this year’s STL Rhythm Fest. In future years, it is our vision to expand the scope of educational opportunities available through STL Rhythm Fest, using the renowned St. Louis Tap Festival as a model.
