4th Annual STL Rhythm Fest:

July 25-28, 2024

Our 4th Annual STL Rhythm Fest expands to 3 full days of events and brings 5 internationally acclaimed professional artists from across the U.S. to St. Louis. STL Rhythm Fest 2024 will featured 30 workshops in tap dance and hop hop, a free kick-off jam session, a free faculty panel discussion, and new this year; a student performance showcase.

Activities are focused on sharing the history & artistry of tap dance.

Our kick-off tap jam on Thursday, July 25, features the artistry of our master instructors and is an open forum where everyone is encouraged to join or simply enjoy as an audience member. The event is completely free and open to the public.

Our new student performance showcase on Friday, July 26, allows students to present tap dance performance pieces for an audience. Our guest faculty will be in attendance. If you're preparing to compete a solo, duo, trio, or group next year, or if you simply have a piece you'd like to share, we encourage you to sign-up!

Our faculty panel discussion on Saturday, July 27, features discussion on historical & contemporary issues important to careers in the arts.  Artists share insight on the impact of the historic St. Louis Tap Festival on their lives and careers.  The event is completely free and open to the public.

For many years, the R. L. Reed Tap Heritage Institute, under the direction of Professor Robert L. Reed, produced the St. Louis Tap Festival (STLF). During STLF’s tenure, thousands of artists and enthusiasts from all over the world have attended the festival’s activities and have recognized the St. Louis area as a hub for the art of tap dance.  STL Rhythm Collaborative honors the commitment and contributions of the late Professor Robert L. Reed at our STL Rhythm Fest. In future years, it is our vision to expand the scope of educational opportunities available through STL Rhythm Fest, using the renowned St. Louis Tap Festival as a model. Your support is greatly appreciated.

This year's event is made possible in part by:  Changing Times Tap Initiative, a division of Changing Times Tap Dance Company, Inc.
