FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

How do I get the member rate for the workshop?

By becoming a member!  For only $12/month, you'll get special discounts on select workshops (like this one) summer camps, classes, and exclusive ticket discounts to every show in our performance season. Plus, you'll receive our members only monthly newsletter, Behind The Shuffle, which takes you behind the scenes of our programs, sharing an intimate look at our artists, and their take on all that's happening in the arts and tap dance right now.

How do I know what level to choose?

Advanced:  In general, we recommend this level to teen through adult students who have at least 8 years of consistent tap dance training.
Intermediate:  In general, we recommend this level to teen through adult students who have at least 5 years of consistent tap dance training.
Youth: In general, we recommend this level to students, age 8-12, who have had at least 2 years of tap consistent tap dance training.  This age range is by no means a set rule, so if you have a dancer that is slightly younger or older, they can certainly still join us!

What if I sign up for the wrong level?

During the first class of the day, all of our teachers evaluate the students and determine whether a student may need to switch levels to ensure they get the most out of the day.  Instructors will speak with those students after class and make recommendations.  It is the student's choice whether they choose to switch levels at that time or remain in the level for which they registered.
Students may also approach the instructors after class if they feel they may want to switch levels.
However after that first class, all students must remain in the level they registered for or switched to for the remainder of the day.

Is this just for kids?

Absolutely not!  We always have a diverse range of ages attending Winter Workshop.  Our intermediate and advanced levels are perfect for adult students as well.  If you're a tap teacher, you should definitely join us!  Register for the level you teach so you can grab some new exercises to take back to your students!

How is lunch handled for full-day students?

Full day students may bring a sack lunch from home, however we do not have access to refrigeration or microwave at the studio.  Parents may also deliver lunch for students and leave it with our staff at the registration table.  Lunches should be labeled with the student's name.
Students will enjoy lunch with the faculty as they lead a Q&A and share brand new footage you can't see anywhere else!

Is there anything I should be sure to bring?

All students should be sure to bring a water bottle (there is a refill station available), snacks for the 15 minute breaks in between classes, and a notebook/writing utensil.  We always encourage our students to bring something to take notes on because we're always sharing names of important artists, places, and bodies of work to check out for more inspiration.  You're definitely going to want to remember them!
